TEACHERS and parents of SJK(T) Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, are worried that an upcoming high-rise project next to the school will affect its structure,Malaysia Nanban reported.
The plan for developing the land formerly owned by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) was mooted six years ago. The school management had met DBKL officials and requested that the land be given instead to the school for expansion.
However, they recently received a letter saying that the land had been sold to a developer.
A school board member said the building would shake occasionally, sparking concerns of safety, especially among parents of the 300 students.
